Tale Of The Rooster

Richard gets my groceries, often. He knows I still get all my meat at the supermarket – frozen chicken and frozen hamburger. Since the truck broke down again this morning, I called for delivery. Among a few other things I asked him to get minced beef (hamburger) and one chicken. He arrives and is walking in to the house carrying a rooster by the feet! A live rooster! I know I looked at him like he had lost his mind while yelling for Chris to come get it. Richard asked if that was what I wanted and I asked him if I have ever asked for a live chicken?! He felt bad, I told him it was okay, we would eat it. Probably not, but I didn’t want him to feel worse! The only problem I have with eating the local chicken is that most of them are tough or rubbery due to only eating free range. Plus I’M not going to do the killing and cleaning! Ha!
I’m not sure how well having two roosters will go but we will see!
